College of Medicine in Phoenix: "Hardscrabble Lives"

“Art is good medicine for both the artist and the observer. Art is used in the curriculum at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix to help medical students sharpen their skills in observation and description, foster critical thinking, and improve communication skills.”

Art In Medicine

Sam was invited to display a collection at the College of Medicine in Phoenix, where the effects of art in medicine is studied and observed. Sam created a collection of abstracted, layered and deep artworks. These pieces contained architectural, mechanical and nautical elements, providing viewers with ephemeral glimpses into the artist’s world. Layers and abstraction create opportunities for deep observation.
